Bhagavatham:The Story of Narada

Kapiludu,Manuvulu,Saptha Rishis,Sanakasanandanadulu,And Narada decended directly from Bhagavan.Narada and Sanakasa nandanadulu were the sons of Brahma. They did not have marriages because they were the sons of the heart of Bramha.Narada says that he has no birth in this Kalpa. He was, in the previous birth,in the Divine presence as he was well- versed with the Vedas.

Narada’s life history of the previous birth.

Narada’s mother was working in a house where the chanting of Vedas, the meditation of God was done and being done always.A yogi is a one who leads life with an awareness of both this life and the life after death. To that house came some Yogis to do Yagam for four months. At that time Narada was a boy of five years. He was entrusted the job to serve those Yogis. He has a tremendous spark in him about God.He did not have any other avocation except to serve them all the time. There is a spur within the heart. As he has an immense devotion to God, he was indifferent towards play like ordinary children of his age,his intimate mingling with them increased the devotion in him.Besides this devotion he ate the food that was left over by those sages. He used to get up earlier than them, arranged every thing for them, and stood before them always. He was there with them all the time like an innocent and ignorant being. He served them even in Sarat kalam. This was the story which happened in the previous Kalpa. This did not happen yesterday or the previous day.He has no birth in this Kalpa. Now he is the son born in the heart of Bramha. He is great” Sidha”.

He and his mother both served in that house of the” Veda Vadulu”.Veda vadulu means they, having read Vedas, taught Vedas to the people as far as possible, gave life to Vedas.Vedam is born in the heart of a human being time to time.It was not in the form of a book.Vedam means Truth. The life and greatness of Vedas are born in the heart of the Veda vidulu.Vedam is” you”.If you know yourself u will know Veda.It is always hidden. It is evident through the experiences of the great sages. To such houses yogis keep visiting.Yogis are those who know the way and who can show the way from alphabets to” Tathwam”.They are friends to both Devatas and Asuras.Narada Maharshi is such a Yogi.Devatas are those who protect light and Asuras are those who protect material things.

Those yogis were observing the “Chaturmasa Yagnam”.They ate only one time fruits, water and air. They trained the body with strict discipline and prepare themselves to experience the “Divine presence”in the month of Margasira masam. This diksha is meant for making the body ready for the mercy of God.

In the human body seven “Dhatus”are born and die.Again seven “Dhatus”are born. The body goes through these changes once in a fortnight.

Now Narada”s life teaches a lesson to us It is really surprising that at the age of five years a boy getting involved in this kind of activity is adorable. It is because of the sincerity with which he served those Rishis and they blessed him for his committed deeds of service.Good deeds always breed good results. But patience is required for this.

The touch of Sadgurus differ from person to person. In the case of Narada his intimacy with those Gurus originated Bhakti in him.As he has this Bhakti seed in him already it grew leaps and bounds. It was sharpened with the fruits of his previous birth. We carry with us the benefits of our good deeds in this birth to get better birth after death.

One should not shirk from responsibilities based on the climatic conditions like chillness, heat etc.As Narada did not give importance to the weather conditions or his own personal comforts,he could serve them with devotion and commitment, despite his social status of being the son of a servant,he could win their hearts and get blessings with that zeal.Earnestness is like fire.If you focus your mind and soul on God He will definitely appear before you.A Bhakta should cry for His presence”how many years shall I wait for you with tired eyes?”This should be our earnestness.

Those yogis were singing the story of Krishna who was “Antharyami Krishna” who is Yogeswareswara.

There were two Krishnas.

1.Antharyami Krishna.2.Bhagavata Krishna.

IT IS A GREAT FORTUNE TO HAVE KRISHNA BHAKTI.

The music filled with devotion used to ring in the ears of Narada..
